Unified Under the Ezulwini Consensus: Africa Demands Its Rightful Place on the UN Security Council

United by the Ezulwini Consensus, African leaders are asserting the continent's agency and demanding equitable representation in global governance.

Reaffirming their commitment to Pan-African solidarity, African leaders have united to push for equitable representation on the global stage. Driven by the Ezulwini Consensus and the Sirte Declaration, the African Union is actively asserting the continent’s undeniable right to two permanent seats with veto power and five non-permanent seats on the UN Security Council.

This unified stance represents a critical step in decolonizing global governance and ensuring that African voices are central to international security and development frameworks. By insisting on structural reform rather than mere symbolism, Africa is demonstrating its collective diplomatic strength. It is a powerful reminder that global solutions require African leadership, moving the continent further toward self-reliance and global parity.
